Don’t you hate when your favourite shirt gets ruined by one of those impossible to shift stains? Whether it’s grass, wine or mud - we’ve all been there.

Fortunately, we’re here to save you from stain heartache.

Follow these simple steps to get rid of these super annoying common stains.

 

#1. Ink

What You’ll Need:

Paper Towel

Laundry Detergent

 

Put a paper towel inside the garment. Take a fresh paper towel and blot excess ink. Cover the stain with laundry detergent and leave for five minutes. Stick in a hot wash.

 

#2. Coffee 

What You’ll Need:

Laundry Detergent

Baking Soda

White Vinegar

Toothbrush

 

Flush the stain with cold water. Cover with detergent and leave to soak, rubbing every few minutes. Meanwhile, mix together baking soda and vinegar to form a paste. After 20 minutes, apply to the stain with a clean toothbrush. Rinse and then wash as normal.

 

#3. Ketchup

What You’ll Need:

Detergent

Paper Towel/Clean Cloth

White Vinegar

Stain Remover

 

Flush the garment with cool water. Cover the stain with detergent and leave for 10 minutes. Rinse. Dab the stain with a paper towel dipped in vinegar. Rinse again. If needed, repeat the process until the stain is gone. Add stain remover and wash as normal.

 

#4. Mustard 

What You’ll Need:

White Vinegar

Washing Up Liquid

 

Soak the stain in vinegar. Cover with washing up liquid and rub gently until the stain is gone. Wash as normal.

 

#5. Food Grease 

What You’ll Need:

Talcum Powder

Washing Up Liquid

 

Sprinkle talc on the stain until most of the grease is absorbed. Brush the residue off with a clean cloth. If the spot remains, gently rub washing up liquid into the stain until it lifts. Wash as usual.

 

#6. Sweat 

What You’ll Need:

Stain Remover

White Vinegar

Lemons

 

Pretreat the stain with stain remover. Mix together one part vinegar to two parts water. Rub the mixture into the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes before washing with cold water. You can also try rubbing lemon juice into the stain before washing!
